Pet Sitter Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a responsible and compassionate individual to join our team as a pet sitter/dog walker.

As a pet sitter/dog walker, you will be entrusted with the care of our clients' beloved pets while they are away. This role requires a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to ensure the safety and well-being of pets under your care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care for pets including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering any necessary medications or treatments.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets at all times, including regular cleaning of litter boxes, cages, and other living areas.

• Engage pets in play and exercise to ensure they receive adequate mental and physical stimulation.

• Monitor pets for any signs of illness or distress and promptly report any concerns to the pet owner or supervisor.

• Follow instructions provided by pet owners regarding specific care routines, dietary restrictions, and any other special requirements.

• Provide updates to pet owners on a regular basis, including photos and/or videos of their pets to reassure them of their well-being.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of client information and respecting the privacy of clients' homes.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with animals preferred, such as pet sitting, dog walking, veterinary assistance, or animal shelter volunteering.

• Ability to handle and restrain pets of various sizes and breeds safely and effectively.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and coworkers.

• Reliable transportation to travel to and from clients' homes as needed.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate clients' schedules.

• Passion for animals and a genuine desire to provide them with the best possible care and attention.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player who can collaborate effectively with others.
