About
Carleen Specht / Owner, Founder
Barks to Meows Pet Sitting began its journey in 2019. At that time, Carleen was a stay-at-home mom, cherishing her bustling household filled with four wonderful children and a loving husband. The idea for the business sprouted when her daughter, Andrea, then 13 years old, expressed a desire to earn some extra money over the summer. She decided to start by walking neighborhood dogs and pet sitting for cats. Her initiative quickly caught on, and she rapidly built a client base due to her dedication and love for animals.
However, as the school year approached, Andrea found herself overwhelmed with school commitments, sports, and social activities. Realizing the potential and not wanting to leave their new clients without reliable service, Carleen decided to step in and take over the burgeoning business. What started as a simple summer job for her daughter evolved into a full-fledged pet sitting service under Carleen’s management.
Over the years, Barks to Meows Pet Sitting has grown significantly. The business now serves multiple cities across Ashtabula County and has developed a strong reputation for reliability and care. Carleen has assembled a wonderful team of pet sitters who share her passion for animals and commitment to excellent service. The company prides itself on providing personalized and attentive care to every pet, ensuring that owners can have peace of mind when they are away.
Today, Barks to Meows continues to thrive, embodying the values of family, dedication, and a genuine love for animals. Carleen’s vision has transformed a small neighborhood venture into a trusted and beloved pet sitting service throughout the region.
